Works like a charm in my Dell 30" 2560×1600@60Hz. I have the Apple DVI adapter connected to this dongle and it detects the monitor really fast. Even better, is quite small and weightless. Interestingly, I have an Aukey HDMI adapter and is always last when showing images in the screen.

I know in the product description it says not to connect this adapter up to other adapters, but I did it anyway. I connected three of these ITANDA USB-C to mini display port adapters to my new touch bar MacBook Pro, each one of them plugging into the official Apple dual link DVI to DisplayPort adapters. Then I connected the Apple USB-C to regular USB adapter, connected a hub to that port and then plugged all of the Apple dual link DVI USB cables into the hub. This allowed me to use three 30" Apple Cinema Displays at 2560x1600 along with the internal laptop display. Note that the USB from the adapters must be hooked up in order for the display to turn on, which might be the problem others are having. Its great except now I need to find a dock with some more ports so I can charge my laptop while using this setup, which will replace my old Mac Pro tower.

Have a 2016 MacBook Pro, of course the Apple adapter did not work to go to my Dell DisplayPort monitors. The confusion is that the adapter that Mac sells is a USB-C to thunderbolt adapter..... thunderbolt and mini-displayport unfortunately have the same shape plug so people think they are interchangeable. So if you use this, you are getting the display adapter, not the thunderbolt adapter. That's why this works for DisplayPort monitors.

I am SO pleased to find that this adapter does successfully connect my MacBook Pro 13" with Touch Bar to my circa-2010 27" Apple LED Cinema Display (which has a hard-wired MiniDisplayPort cable, NOT Thunderbolt). It works perfectly.

This convert the USB type C connection from the MAC to a mini display port. If you have a MAC and you would like to connect it to a TV or projector for presentation. This is one way to go. This convert the normal USB type C for Apple devices to a mini display that you can get cable to use. Most projectors do not come with the mini display cable, but you can get a cable to convert the mini display port to a DVI or HDMI connection. We have a couple of Mac book users and this will be very helpful. No longer need to email the presentation, we can now connect the Mac book to our projector.
